A TRIBUTE
Dedicated to those who care for people with special needs.

When we are sent from heaven to earth,
We know so little of special births
We twist and turn and stand and stare
And then our hearts fill with despair.

We don’t seek to help mankind,
But look just there, a man that’s blind,
Here, take my arm dear friend you say,
I’ll be your eyes, I’ll lead the way.

Then a child falls at your feet,
Come on my love, no time to weep.

Oh who’s that knocking at my door?
No doubt someone who says they’re poor,
An old man stands his clothes in shreds,
Please help me dear, I feel quite dead.

And so life’s pattern slowly weaves,
There’s always someone who’s in need,
But why should I be singled out?
Hey, help me dear, another shouts.

And so your destiny unfolds,
Mankind is seems to you is cold,
With un-seeing eyes and hearts of steel,
They cannot see their brothers kneel
Praying for help and guidance too,
Have you wondered why it’s you?

Whose life is full and very sweet,
Weary yes, in bones and feet,
It’s because you don’t dismay
Helping others on their way.

It is then life opens up opportunity to spot,
You’ve found soul’s who need your love,
Especially sent from Heaven above.

Rubbish, all the sceptics jeer,
You know quite well the money’s there.
Yes my friend that is quite true,
Ask these soul’s who turn quite blue,
Throwing fits and breaking bones,
Would you have them be alone?

Hours and hours of muddled talk,
Showing some dear soul to walk,
Patience bending here and there,
Vigilance sat in a chair,
Watching all those in your charge.

But someone is watching you,
All those loving things you do,
No bouquets or gifts or thanks
But it’s all chalked up in Heaven’s great banks.

When your job on earth is done,
And the testing time has gone,
You might find you can’t adapt,
Too many years with the handicapped.

As you look back through the years,
You can see now through your tears,
All the love to souls you gave,
Those who never could repay,
If at last you are in doubt,
WE THANK GOD YOU WERE SINGLED OUT.
